Key Largo is the first Key in the Florida Keys chain of islands. Key Largo is part of unincorporated Monroe County and starts at Mile Marker 106 to Mile Marker 90. In order to get to the Atlantic Ocean or the Florida Bay, there are 3 options - Jewfish Creek Bridge, with a 65' clearance and is located at Mile Marker 106; Adams Cut, located at Mile Marker 103 and will wind through John Pennekamp State Park; and Tavernier Creek Bridge.

Key Largo is known as the Diving Capital of the World! The Spiegel Gove shipwreck, the Christ Statue, The Eagle as well as many patch reefs. Although the claim to fame is Diving, there is also great fishing - whether it is off shores or in the Everglades National Park. If you can think of an activity to do on the water, you can do it in the Keys. There is the Key Largo Sailing Club, as well as many trails through the mangroves via kayak or paddle board. John Pennekamp State Park is located in Key Largo.
